Ioannis Koufogiannis was born in Thessaloniki, Greece. He joined SPEAG in January 2021.
Ioannis received his Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, in 2009 and his PhD from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Switzerland, in 2014. Since 2019, he also holds the MBA degree from University of St. Gallen, Switzerland.
Ioannis performed research on computational electromagnetics and computational physics, including mixed potential integral equation formulations for EM multilayered structures and high-power breakdown phenomena like EM corona breakdowns. He was also active scientific contributor in industrial collaborations with the European Space Agency, SPEAG and Huber+Suhner AG.
Before joining SPEAG, Ioannis was the senior R&D engineer with Huber+Suhner AG in Herisau, Switzerland, responsible for the technical innovation and supporting the business development of EM protectors.
Ioannis has wide experience on early stage innovation, lean management (green belt holder) and project leading from ideation phase to market introduction, on top of his expertise in electromagnetics and multiphysics.
