IMPLANT EMI SOURCES

SPEAG offers a variety of near-field sources for the electromagnetic immunity (EMI) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing of medical implants (8 of 13 models shown in the picture below).

ISO 14117/PC69 & ISO 14708 EMC Dipole Sets: 385 – 3000 MHz

Description

EMC dipole sets for EMC testing of active implantable medical devices for the frequency range 385 – 3000 MHz in accordance with ISO 14117 or ISO 14708 standards.

Calibration
EMC dipoles are characterized in our ISO/IEC 17025 calibration laboratory with respect to magnetic (H-) field symmetry along the dipole arms and return loss for the operating frequency band (contact info@speag.swiss).
Applications The dipoles are tuned to resonance at a distance of 20 mm above a torso simulator tank in which the device is embedded. Operation well above 10 W power is possible for immunity testing of the device at single or adjacent frequencies.

Design

A quarter wave balun is combined with an internal dual stage matching network to cover multiple frequencies or without network for single frequency operation. The external geometry and the resulting H-field are fully symmetrical. A flat body with SMA connector at the far end eases the manual positioning above the phantom.
