Still Groovin’ to the E-Field Probe Blues by Prof. Howard Bassen

Still Groovin’ to the E-Field Probe Blues by Prof. Howard Bassen

The first paper to describe the design and fabrication of a miniature broad-band electric field probe was published more than 40 years ago in the Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, Biological Effects of Nonionizing Radiation (Feb 28, 1975, vol. 247, no. 2, pp. 481 – 493). The design of this first isotropic dosimetric probe – invented and built by our colleague Howard Bassen of the Center for Devices and Radiological Health of the US Food and Drug Administration – has been further developed and optimized by SPEAG in our line of commercially available electromagnetic probes.

Howard is not only a gifted scientist and engineer but also a talented composer and musician. Listen to his riff on the E-field probe, the E-Field Probe Blues. We here at SPEAG are devoted fans of this tune:
