Continuing the tradition of the successful dual-format structure, each event featured dedicated customer meetings in the morning followed by in-depth workshops in the afternoons. As always, this structure provided a unique opportunity to explore Z43’s latest technological advances in both targeted and collaborative settings.
As in previous years, the workshops were split into two parallel tracks, one showcasing solutions for the wireless and telecom industries and the other spotlighting medical and life science applications.
The series kicked off in Taipei, Taiwan, on May 16 and continued in China, first in Beijing (May 19), then in Shanghai (May 21) and Shenzhen (May 23). The events at every venue brought together professionals from academia, industry, and government, fostering knowledge exchange, sparking new ideas about the latest technological developments, and strengthening collaborations. A central part of the workshops was the presentation of the broad spectrum of innovations from the partner institutions of the Z43 alliance.
SPEAG offered a comprehensive update on its latest advancements in measurement and simulation technologies. Attendees were introduced to several newly enhanced modules of the DASY8 platform, including tools for testing time-averaged proximity sensors (Module SENS V2.0), and the latest releases of DASY8 Module WPT V3.2 – to characterize inductive wireless power transfer (WPT) systems, as well as assessing power density of millimeter wave (mmWave) transmitters with DASY8 Module mmWave V4.2 and Module APD V3.0. One notable highlight was the new DAK-R system for measuring low-loss materials, which was live-demoed at the product exhibition. Additional highlights included updates to MAGPy for low-frequency magnetic exposure assessment, and live demonstrations of SPEAG’s latest generation of anatomical electromagnetic (EM) phantoms.
ZMT impressed with their official rollout of the powerful, cloud-native Sim4Life V9.0 simulation environment. In the latest version, the o2S2PARC platform (IT'IS Foundation) is integrated, offering pipelining of a vast selection of new services and capabilities for users to onboard their own solvers/services. In addition, ZMT demonstrated the new hypertools that enable users to automate and streamline even the most complex simulation workflows directly from any device, with no need to install or maintain software. Additional features of Sim4Life V9.0 that will further bridge desktop and cloud capabilities were previewed, along with new Virtual Population (ViP) models (IT'IS Foundation) and model posturing functionalities and an update on the latest developments in neurostimulation. The cutting-edge engineering aspects of Sim4Life Version 9.0, the integration of the o2S2PARC platform, and the hypertools, as well as the many more unique advances for the EM and wireless industries, were also highlighted in the conclusion of the SPEAG EM/wireless session.
Meanwhile, TI Solutions AG unveiled the latest version of its Temporal Interference Brain Stimulator for Research (TIBS-R V3.2) which offers compatibility for functional magnetic resonance imaging studies, and the Temporal Interference Planning (TIP V4.0) Tool developed by the IT’IS Foundation. Furthermore, TI Solutions offered a glimpse of the TI-HOME V1.0 appliance – a novel portable TI stimulation device with closed-loop control for clinical and home use, to be released by the end of 2027. The TI-Home session sparked animated interest among neuroscience researchers.
In all four cities, the workshops wrapped up with lively discussions and in-depth technical Q&A sessions, complemented by product exhibitions that continued with informal conversations over coffee breaks and evening receptions. True to Z43’s tradition, the events also featured much-anticipated raffles and special Swiss giveaways – from a gold bar and limited in-store-only MoonSwatch editions to iconic Freitag bags and, of course, Swiss chocolate.
We thank our partners at AUDEN and all participants for contributing to yet another inspiring workshop series. See you again in 2026!
