DASY8 Module APD V1.2 Adopted by Regulators
DASY8 Module APD has been upgraded and further enhanced with the new DAE8APD, PHA-30GV2, and software version 1.2, resulting in improved measurement speed and precision. Module APD V1.2 systems have been delivered and successfully installed at the sites of two major regulators in Japan and South Korea, underpinning the progressive regulatory adoption of our technology.
SPEAG's DASY8 Module APD had been developed ahead of standardization completion and is currently the only system that can demonstrate compliance with absorbed power density (APD) limits at frequencies from 10 to 45 GHz. The latest software update, version 1.2, together with the newly introduced DAE8APD and PHA-30GV2 phantom, has led to significant improvements in the measurement speed, efficiency, and accuracy of the system. The DAE8APD enhances surface detection precision to the micrometer range with greatly reduced detection forces, while the PHA-30GV2 phantom ensures stable and repeatable measurement conditions.
These hardware advancements, combined with the improved scanning strategies in software V1.2, enable faster and more reliable APD assessments, optimizing compliance testing for wireless communication devices in the New Radio Frequency range 2 (NR FR2) and upcoming FR3 frequency ranges above 10 GHz. The APD of WiFi 6E/7 devices operating in the 6 – 10 GHz band can already be measured with DASY8/6 Module SAR.

Regulatory Adoption
In December 2024, SPEAG's DASY8 Module APD was successfully installed at the research labs of the Japanese National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) and at those of the Korean National Radio Research Agency (RRA). NICT and RRA take the lead in the adoption of APD in compliance testing. Such testing eliminates the shortcomings of compliance testing based on incident power density ahead of standardization. The deployment reinforces SPEAG's leadership in electromagnetic field exposure assessment and regulatory compliance solutions.
Validation
DASY8 Module APD V1.2 has been successfully validated with a normalized error (En) <0.5 using the APD validation scheme developed by the IEC TC106 JWG12 for their APD measurement system round-robin. DASY8 Module APD V1.2 sports a total measurement uncertainty of <1.6 dB.
