As 6G development progresses toward Frequency Range 3 (FR3), the measurement infrastructure for regulatory compliance testing must be established well ahead of commercial deployment. SPEAG has developed DASY8 Module APD V2.0 to address this need. It extends absorbed power density (APD) assessment from 10 to 24 GHz, enabling device manufacturers, test laboratories, and regulators to perform R&D and pre-compliance evaluations in line with emerging IMT-2030 requirements.
Central to this release is the rigorous, validated skin model by Christ et al. (DOI: 10.1002/bem.70025) that establishes a conservative absorption model of the human skin. This model has been adopted into the latest draft of IEC 63195-3 as the normative skin model for APD phantoms, providing an experimentally grounded, conservative representation of human skin electromagnetic absorption across the full FR3 band and beyond.
The following hardware and software components are released in DASY8 Module APD V2.0:
DASY8 Module APD V2.0 with the novel PHA10-18GV1 and PHA18-24GV1 for absorbed power density assessments in upcoming 6G frequency range 3.
All components are fully validated and designed for seamless integration into the DASY8 system, supporting automated application programming interface (API) APD testing workflows that device manufacturers and laboratories require.
With DASY8 Module APD V2.0, device manufacturers, test laboratories, and regulatory bodies gain the precision instrumentation needed for FR3 R&D and pre-compliance testing well ahead of the commercial 6G deployment.
