Strong Innovation Across Wireless and Medical Technologies at the 2026 Z43–DYMSTEC Workshop

The annual Z43–DYMSTEC Workshop returned to Korea on September 17, 2026, bringing together more than 100 participants from industry, academia, and research at the Gachon Convention Center in Sungnam-si, Gyeonggi-do. Hosted by DYMSTEC, the one-day workshop continued the long-standing collaboration with the Z43 Alliance and showcased the latest products and developments from SPEAG, ZMT, TI Solutions AG, and the IT’IS Foundation.

Following several days of customer meetings and technical discussions, the workshop provided a concentrated look spanning wireless technologies and computational life sciences. The first part of the program focused on new solutions for wireless measurements, compliance testing, and device characterization, while the second part turned to simulation, patient-specific modeling, medical device safety, and neurostimulation.

SPEAG opened the program with a broad overview of new and upcoming solutions for the wireless industry. Highlights included the latest advances in specific absorption rate (SAR) assessment, with the novel smart SAR (sSAR) approach for DASY8 and cSAR3D, regulatory updates, and MATEOS, the brand-new base station emulator control software, presented by Y. Masunaga (MWF) for use with cSAR3D.

The program also featured the latest capabilities of DASY8 Modules APD and mmWave, including extensions for emerging FR3 applications; automated proximity sensor testing with Module SENS and DASY8-3D; and new functionality in MAGPy3 and Module WPT3. The session also covered comprehensive material characterization with the DAK product line and new electromagnetic phantoms for virtual reality devices and smart goggles.

The second part of the workshop turned to computational life sciences session, with a focus on the forthcoming Sim4Life V10.0. The new release introduces artificial intelligence (AI-)assisted engineering workflows and a unified desktop and web user experience, alongside continued advances in patient-specific modeling and two new solvers: the Thermoregulation Simulator and BRAIN, for modeling whole-brain activity.

TI Solutions AG presented the latest version of its Temporal Interference Brain Stimulator for Research (TIBS-R V3.4), now compatible with 2.9T, 3T, and 7T magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners, as well as the forthcoming temporal interference (TI) planning tool TIP V6.0, developed by the IT’IS Foundation. A preview of the upcoming TIBS-R HOME V1.0 system sparked additional interest among attendees.

Beyond the presentations, the workshop created plenty of opportunities for exchange. Live demonstrations, Q&A sessions coffee breaks, and a joint lunch allowed participants to engage directly with Z43 experts and discuss their own research and engineering challenges. And, of course, no Z43–DYMSTEC workshop would be complete without a Swiss touch: the traditional raffle once again added excitement to an already eventful day, with a rich selection of Swiss prizes and delicious chocolate waiting for the lucky winners.
