SEMCAD Matterhorn V15.4 Update Release

SEMCAD Matterhorn V15.4 Released

SPEAG is pleased to announce the release of SEMCAD X Matterhorn V15.4, a major update of SEMCAD X Matterhorn V15.0. This release delivers significant new improvements and capabilities to address a variety of engineering challenges in a wide range of applications, such as safety assessment, EMI/EMC, antenna design and dosimetry.

Key new features of SEMCAD X Matterhorn V15.4 include:

  • A subgrid EM-FDTD engine that locally resolves the model in great detail, reduces simulation times and allows high accuracy computation. Like our main FDTD implementation, the subgrid engine uses GPUs to achieve significantly faster turnaround times.
  • Framework enhancements such as the concurrent handling of meshes and NURBS, exposure of several new functions and tools to Python, and a Workbench for complex analysis and visualization pipelines.
  • New/Improved Tools:
    • MBSAR - SAR evaluation tool for transmitters that simultaneously operate at different frequency bands
    • MIMOS - Antenna Diversity Tool for analyzing multi-antenna systems
    • ESD Tool (Preview) - Simulation of electrostatic discharge in PCBs

The complete list of improvements and fixes is provided in the Release Notes or available via the Download Site.

    Respectfully yours,

    SPEAG SEMCAD X Matterhorn Team

Use of the novel SEMCAD Matterhorn EM-FDTD subgrid engine & GPU computing for refining a smart watch on a whole body phantom allowed a reduction of computation time from one week to four hours.

Complex analysis and visualization of simulation results with the new Workbench: easy extractions of E-field distribution, far-field radiation pattern, antenna input impedance, SAR assessment, etc.

SEMCAD Matterhorn's EM-FDTD solver to compute and accurately predict EM emission and electromagnetic compatibility issues in multilayer printed circuit boards (PCB).
