Radiofrequency Metrological Engineer

SPEAG, together with its partner organizations, the Foundation for Research on Information Technologies in Society (IT’IS), ZMT Zurich MedTech AG (ZMT), and TI Solutions AG (TI Solutions), form the Zurich43 alliance. Z43’s dedicated mission is to expand the knowledge and technology for the (i) characterization, optimization, and application of the EM near-field, (ii) predictive modeling of interactions between physical agents and physiology in complex anatomies, and (iii) medical applications.

Your challenges:

  • Develop and implement new assessment and calibration methods and procedures for radiofrequency (RF) near-field evaluation systems
  • Collaborate with internal R&D teams to improve the accuracy and efficiency of assessment and calibration processes
  • Participation in international standard development
  • Assist in troubleshooting technical issues related to measurement systems and devices
  • Act as a technical liaison between our laboratory and external clients, providing technical support and guidance on RF measurement procedures
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our calibration services and quality management system

Your strengths:

  • Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field, with a focus on RF metrology or electromagnetics
  • Practical experience with high-frequency laboratory equipment such as signal generators, network analyzers, and spectrum analyzers
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python with experience in the automation of calibration and measurement processes
  • Experience with quality management systems (e.g., ISO/IEC 17025) is highly desirable
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on technical accuracy and precision
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with both technical teams and external clients
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong sense of responsibility and unwavering commitment to delivering the highest quality standard of work
  • Willingness to travel to key customers and standardization meetings worldwide
  • Proficiency in English (both written and spoken); German proficiency is a plus
