DAK-R for Multi-Frequency Measurement of Low-Loss Dielectric Materials

SPEAG’s latest advancement in dielectric measurement instruments – the DAK-Resonator (DAK-R) – allows precise determination of low-loss material properties at 10, 17, 26, 35, and 45 GHz – all in a single measurement! DAK-R optimally complements our existing DAK-TL2 systems for measurements of thin-layers.

SPEAG is the leading provider of broadband dielectric measurement instrumentation. In a combined research effort with the IT’IS Foundation, we have advanced the split cylindrical resonator method and realized the world’s first truly multi-frequency resonator cavity system that is both easy to use and a perfect extension of our existing Dielectric Assessment Kit (DAK) product line – the new DAK-Resonator (DAK-R).

DAK-R system for measuring dielectric properties of low-loss materials

DAK-R pairs a novel cavity with the most advanced solver, enabling broadband measurements at 10, 17, 26, 35, and 45 GHz with low uncertainty (<1% for permittivity and <1 × 10-4 for loss)

DAK-R offers a range of exciting unique features:

  • Innovative cavity design that suppresses unwanted resonances, enabling measurements across multiple frequencies
  • Vertical cavity structure for high-precision measurements and easy sample handling
  • Quality factor of more than 25000 for outstanding measurement accuracy
  • Vector network analyzer compatibility similar to that of other DAK products (requires 2-ports)
  • Seamless integration with the DAK-TL2 software
  • Compliant with IPC test method TM-650 2.5.5.13

The DAK instruments are ideally suited for R&D laboratories and QA departments across the wireless, automotive, and medical industries, offering precision and reliability. The DAK-R and DAK-TL2 combination delivers the ultimate solution and sets a new standard for accurate, broadband dielectric characterization.
