The latest generation of chargers make use of frequency or amplitude shifting keying (FSK/ASK) to optimize charging efficiency, creating modulated magnetic fields and time-varying charging rates. As highlighted at the Telecommunications Certification Body (TCB) Council Workshop held in October in Baltimore MD, USA, these advancements present significant challenges for testing laboratories. In response – and within less than two months – SPEAG released Module WPT V2.8, which automates the testing of these advanced chargers to the level of chargers based on fixed frequency and amplitude.
The time sweep feature provides time profiles of peak frequency and magnetic field amplitude, enabling precise identification of the maximum charging stage. It also facilitates the analysis of magnetic field dynamics during load removal, i.e., when a device is removed from the charger being tested.
Along with bugfixes, DASY8/6 Module WPT V2.8 also improves the management of MAGPy files and log files.

The updated in situ exposure assessment system MAGPy V2.8 offers two new magnetic field measurement options, providing high-accuracy measurement data for individual sensors.
