In 2018, SPEAG released cSAR3D-A, our first system for automated specific absorption rate (SAR) testing, which was loved by our customers, but proved not to be modular and versatile enough to quickly adopt to the testing needs created by new exposure control features combining time-averaged SAR, proximity and motion sensors.
SPEAG did not shy away from the major effort of starting from scratch, and completely redesigned the cSAR3D-A system using all the technologies developed in-house in the meantime, such as the modularity of the DASY8 Modules and our Jupyter Notebook-based solutions. The focus was on maximizing precision and providing an easy-to-use user interface that allows user-defined testing protocols.
The result is DASY83D.
DASY83D is modular in hardware and software – any DASY8 and cSAR3D system can be upgraded to DASY83D. The software is based on the new DASY8 Module c3D V1.0 and the Jupyter Notebook DASY83D, and interacts with cSAR3D via its advanced application programming interfaces. The first version of the DASY83D software is still limited, but already has several important test functionalities and features:
Precision of device positioning on the cSAR3D phantoms of 0.1 mm and 0.1º;
Speed through automation without compromising measurement accuracy;
Reduced operator errors;
Accurate evaluation of SAR distance and position dependence, including proximity sensors.
In the coming months, SPEAG will add many new features, and focus on smart and smooth integration of different base station simulators.
