Sven Kühn received his Dipl.-Ing. (M.Sc.) in Information and Communication Technologies from Chemnitz University of Technology, Germany, in 2004, and his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich), Switzerland, in 2009, for which he received the ETH Zurich Medal.
Sven joined SPEAG in 2009 as Head of Sensor Technologies, where he introduced the TDS electro-optical sensor platform and the ICEy near-field scanning system to the market. In 2011, he assumed leadership of the hardware R&D team. Since 2022, he has served as Director of Hardware R&D and Board Member, overseeing hardware, software, and test engineering across SPEAG's RF-EMF measurement product portfolio. He is the Technical Manager of SPEAG's ISO 17025-accredited calibration laboratory and is responsible for regulatory compliance across the FDA, CE marking, and other international compliance frameworks.
His work at SPEAG spans the full product lifecycle, from concept and design through embedded systems and software to production release. Recent highlights include leading the development of the DASY8 APD module for robotic millimeter-wave absorbed power-density assessment, which is now deployed globally as a reference measurement standard. He is a Swiss national delegate to IEC TC 103 and TC 106, and has contributed to the development of international test standards for RF-EMF compliance and radio-frequency-over-fiber technologies.
