Accelerated SAR Compliance Testing

cDASY Module SAR V6.14 – SPEAG's compliance Dosimetric Assessment System Software Version 6.14 – is optimized for accelerated SAR compliance testing according to IEC 62209-1, IEC 62209-2, IEC 62232, IEEE 1528, CE, and FCC regulations.

Acceleration is realized with:

  • intelligent and optimized selection of testing points with speed-maximized robot movements
  • integrated system check and validation modules
  • communication system calibration and verification performed with sensor model calibration (SMC) probes and the modulation and audio interference analyzer (MAIA)
  • automated call handling with base-station simulators
  • a Smart Zoom Scan that adjusts the grid resolution on the fly to meet the IEC 62209-2 AMD1:2019 criteria
Manufacturers and testing laboratories can reduce SAR compliance testing times by more than a factor of 3 while maintaining the same level of precision as a full evaluation with DASY52. 

Graphical Interface

The intuitive user interface has been designed to follow the workflow described in SAR compliance standards, from generating the project file to reporting the measurements. 

Project Generator

cDASY6 features a user-friendly project generator tool. The exposure conditions, test signals and measurement grids are automatically created from the properties of the device-under-test (DUT) according to the rules described in SAR compliance standards. Over 1000 test configurations can be created in less than 20 seconds. 

Additional user-specific measurement templates can be programmed with the Python interface. 

System Performance Check

System performance checks that have been measured are stored in a separate database. They can be added to any project file and included in the SAR compliance report. The deviations from SAR targets and probe isotropy are automatically evaluated by cDASY6 to avoid external data processing. 


With SMC (Sensor Model Calibration), communication system validation is not required anymore. Furthermore, MAIA (Modulation and Audio Interference Analyzer) verifies during measurements that the communication system selected by the user is the same as the signal transmitted by the EUT 

API Option (Licensed)


The API (Application Programming Interface) Option enables the further automation of SAR (Specific Absorption Rate) compliance measurement workfows via HTTP commands.

Typical use cases are:

  • automation of test reduction procedures, i.e., decide on the next measurement to be performed dynamically
  • integration of third-party tools as BSS, test software, DUT positioner...

The API is compatible with any programming language supporting HTTP requests. It is available as a licensed option.

Smart Zoom Scan

The Smart Zoom Scan has been developed to save time when testing according to the IEC 62209-2:2019 Amendment 1 on grid resolution.

As measurement repetitions can be very time consuming, the Smart Zoom Scan adjusts the grid steps on the fly. 

A 2D scan on a fine grid resolution is first performed and the smallest horizontal distance from the local SAR peaks to all points 3 dB below the SAR peak is computed. The Zoom Scan is then performed with the optimized grid settings computed from the preceding 2D Scan. 

The procedure is fully automated and integrated in the measurement workflow.


Time Averaged SAR

cDASY6 features automated time averaged SAR measurements for devices that monitor and control the time averaged transmitted power in real time over the period defined in the applicable standards.

Fast Volume Scan

Fast Volume Scans are a 3D measurements performed over an user specified volume. The post processing uses an advanced reconstruction algorithm to asses the psSAR1g/10g distribution in the measured volume. It is also used to determine the total absorbed power and the whole-body averaged SAR (wbSAR) for base-station compliance testing.  



Specific Phantoms

cDASY6 implements measurements in specific phantoms (SAM Face-Down, SAM Head-Stand, SAM Chin-20 Right/Left and Wrist Phantom). This feature will ease SAR compliance testing of wireless devices not operating around the ear-mouth line area or mounted on the torso.

Scan Time

The novel Fast Area Scan assesses the 1g and 10g values in less than 30 s using the same post processing algorithm as the regular Area Scan.

The time needed for the area scan is 3× faster, and the time for a volume scan is reduced by 30%. 

Post Processing Algorithms

cDASY6 features the same set of post-processing algorithms as DASY52.

Report Generator

Automated reports and result summary tables (various formats supported) and can be generated through a user-friendly interface. Reports can even be stored directly to your company database. 

Test scripts and customer support are provided by SPEAG.

Base-Station Simulators

cDASY6 inherently supports base-station simulators. The following base-station simulators are currently or will be integrated for automated control of the cSAR3D systems:

  • Rohde & Schwarz CMU200 / CMW500
  • Keysight (Agilent) E5515C / E 8960 Series 10
  • Anritsu MT8820C / MT8821C  
Other simulators and DUT firmware interfaces are user programmable via an advanced Python interface.
